Dictador 12 is a solera aged rum blended from rums aged between 8 to 14 years, with an average age of 12 years. The rums are distilled from cane syrup rather than molasses before being aged in American former whisky barrels.
Founded in 1913 by Don Julio Aranga y Parra. Don Julio is a descendant of Severo Arango y Ferro, who oversaw trade between Spain and its colonies in the Americas in the 1700s and was nicknamed 'El Dictador'
