Here we have a 12 year old Caol Ila. Bottled as part of Gordon and Macphails Wood Finished range. Bottled at 45% for at outun of 3900 bottles.

This whisky has spent 11 years in Bourbon Barrels before being re-racked into the extremley rare and expensive Sassicaia red wine casks. 

Sassicaia is one of the most exclusive and saught after Italian red wines in todays market. 

Caol Ila's distillery character manages to combine a fresh pear note, grassiness, a hint of juniper and distinct notes of the seashore – lobster shells, crab creels and gentle smoke

Caol Ila is owned by Diageo and is the main single malt whisky used within Johnnie Walker blends when some smoke is needed.
